Built in the Brutalist style by Fred Lebensold in 1967 to commemorate the centenary of Canada's founding, the NAC is Canada's premier performing arts attraction, with four stages comprising the centre as a whole, attracting Broadway shows, ballets and operas from North America and worldwide. In 2006 it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
